Can i return a part i have purchased?
Yes (within 14 days of invoice date), only if approved by SBT Australia, you must contact us by email with Invoice Number, Name and Reason for Return and we will respond as soon as possible. Returns only accepted if a fair reason/error has been determined, returns will not be accepted if no fair reason/error presented. All items returned must be in the original packaging, undamaged or will be subject to a 15% re-packaging fee. No part that has been used will be accepted for return so please take due care checking your order before installation.
(Please Note: Electrical items are non returnable).
Who is responsible for shipping?
You are responsible for shipping the claim to SBT Australia. SBT Australia pays for the return shipping on all claims within Australia. All international customers are responsible for roundtrip shipping.
Who is responsible for for the removal? You are responsible for the removal & installation of the motor. SBT Australia warrants the core engine only.
I don't have the original box/packaging. How do I package the engine/part?
You do not have to have the original box if sending an "engine", a sturdy, strong corrugated (eg: cardboard) box will be fine. You are responsible for any damages in shipping so it is very important that proper packing is used as to ensure its safety. (If sending an engine via Star Track Express within Australia on the account of SBT Australia, maximum box size permitted is: 550mm x 550mm x 550mm. Excess charges will be incurred if box size exceeds these measurements so please take due care to ensure this does not occur).

However, if you are returning a "part" for credit/warranty yes it MUST be returned in its original box/packaging, free of any damage. If you do not have the original box/packaging a 15% re-packaging fee will apply. Any unnecessary damage to the returned box/packaging/part will incur a 15% re-stocking fee; This includes (beyond re-saleable means) being bent, chipped, ripped open/apart excessively, scratched excessively, stained in any way.
I didn't do the original installation. How do I know what parts should be returned?
Our engine is a shortblock with a head. All electronics, carburetion, exhaust, flywheels, couplers, etc. need to be removed. A complete description of parts that should be sent is coming soon, please call us until then if required.
Who should I use for shipping?
Any shipping company that utilises a tracking system is recommended. SBT Australia offers a special return price of $100 on all claims nationwide within Australia via Star Track Express (Please contact SBT Australia to get account number/address details if you wish to utilise this). Maximum box size permitted is: 550mm x 550mm x 550mm. Excess charges will be incurred if box size exceeds these measurements so please take due care to ensure this does not occur).
Will someone notify me when my claim is received?
Although initial contact times may vary depending on season/workload, yes SBT Australia will contact you once your claim has been received & carefully inspected in full, however with the tracking number you may contact the shipping company to find out if the package has been delivered yet or alternatively when it is scheduled to be delivered.
How long until I receive a replacement?
Once the claim is received and approved by SBT Australia, depending on workload/stock levels it is approximately between 5-15 days before a replacement is shipped out.
Will someone call me when the replacement is shipping?
Yes in most instances, if a phone number/email address has been provided. SBT Australia does its upmost to provide up to date feedback regarding the status of your claim, including a satisfactory call/email to let you know when it has been shipped to you.
Does the warranty start over with the replacement engine/part?
The replacement does not come with a new warranty. The warranty is based on the original sales date.
Can I purchase an extended warranty?
SBT Australia does not sell extended warranties.
